Concept Phone Using Solar Power

Posted on 09 June 2008

We have all seen various mobile chargers that use sunlight for getting their energy. This new concept phone has that kind of device integrated in its structure. The Eclipse Intuit was designed by Eddie Goh and uses a chemical-based thin skin ingrained with energy generating solar cells.

Featuring a 5 megapixel camera with integrated software for photo editing and uploading to photo albums, it has a sliding keyboard with tactile feedback and an enormous touchscreen. This is a combination of both high tech and stylish design, so the can all do the right now for mother-nature, when buying a cellphone.

Wow. That’s cool! Even with a 5 megapixel camera. If something like this is ready to go in production I would definately buy it. But today I’m looking more forward the recently announced iPhone 3G :)

I like the idea of solar charging for on the go. Hope this becomes standard on mobile devices.

It should be powered by motion like wristwatches. It spends the day in my pocket and it gets the charging while I walk around. When people think I’m playing the pocket pool, I’m actually shaking my phone to charge it.!!
