The Palm Pixi Plus is a phone that has been launched along with the Palm Pre Plus. The Pre Plus was launched for Sprint, whereas the Palm Pixi Plus will be coming along with Sprint as the service provider. This is one phone that helps people make a jump from the commonplace feature phone to phones that are smartphones and it does a good job at it too. This is a phone that has quite a few interesting features that make it a suitable upgrade from those who were earlier using plain vanilla or feature phones. This is a phone that also boats integrated WIFI that is not present in the Palm Pre Plus.

On the downsides, this phone is not as high end as the other smart phones that are available in the market these days. It also seems sluggish in parts and if you are planning to use it for business purposes, you can forget this piece. But for its part it does have multi-touch screen as well as organizing features that good phones are able to afford. The price of this phone is also quite reasonable so if you were putting off that upgrade just because of the price you can surely check out the Palm Pixi Plus.

Pet Gadgets

If you truly want the best for your pets, then they should have access to the same kind of high-tech toys that you love playing with. Here are some of the more interesting gadgets for your pets to enjoy.

Labyrinth Aquarium: Do you ever feel sorry for your fish only having a small space to explore? Worry no more with the Labyrinth Aquarium. Your fish will have five softball-size orbs to call home, each interconnected via a clear tube. Give your fish the treatment usually reserved for a gerbil or hamster. Price: $6500.

Drink No More: For whatever reason, dogs can’t get enough of water from the toilet. This device, placed on the underside of the toilet lid, beeps and flashes whenever it senses something approaching the toilet. Unfortunately this also applies to humans, so it could get tiresome turning off the device with every trip to the bathroom, but it would be useful in homes with small families. Price: $17.99.

Frolicat Bolt: It’s difficult to tell whether cats love, hate, hate to love or love to hate laser pointers, but they definitely feel strongly about them. This automatic laser pointer rests on a flat surface and points a laser all around the room. Sit back and watch your cat go nuts. It can also be manually controlled to literally drive your feline up the wall. Price: $19.95.

Pets Eye View: If you’ve ever wondered what the world looks like from the eyes of your dog or cat, now you can finally find out. A water-resistant digital camera is attached to your dog’s collar and can be programmed to take a photo every one, five or fifteen minutes. The photos can then be uploaded to your computer and you can finally know what your pet does when you aren’t around. Price: $44.99.

There are a number of cell phone companies that have a good fan following in countries of Asia or even Europe, but are not well known in the US. One of these companies is Huawei that has had some very basic handsets in the past which may have come in the way of the release of these phones in the States. Now the Huawei brand is seeing a little more traction and visibility in the US market due to a couple of smartphone and touch screen handsets that have been released here. One of these is the Huawei M750 which may not be the most advanced handset in its class, but does have some features that set it apart from other run of the mill phone offerings.

Like other touch screen phones, the Huawei M750 is also rather rectangular in shape and with a weight of around 3.91 ounces it is robust as well as solid to touch and feel as you carry it along. The touch screen display is 2.8 inch which may seem a little small as compared to some pieces from the competition. The Huawei M750 does not have any video player and it cannot be rotated in to the landscape mode.

There are a lot of folks who are going gaga over green gadgets as everyone seems to be clambering up on the green and eco friendly bandwagon. This is not surprising that even cell phone companies want to cash in on this trend, or fad as some people may consider it. It seems that there are many gadgets out there that use a little less power but from cells to cameras to TVs and ACs, the energy saving label is quite in vogue and becoming more and more popular by the day. This is where the Samsung Reclaim claims to be made of recycled plastic, which is a green measure as plastics are not bio degradable and would need to be burnt to be destroyed, which is polluting. Samsung Reclaim follows the trend set by Motorola Renew which was also made out of recycled plastic.

The Samsung Reclaim also comes in a box that is made of recycled paper, and the ink on its user manual is also soy based. It seems Samsung is sparing no effort to go the distance and make the effort to be well and truly eco friendly with the Reclaim. This also happens to be a decent phone with few problems in performance.

The Motorola Ming was relapsed in markets other than in the US. This is a phone that was reviewed by the cell phone review and one year after this phone was reviewed, it has brought a variation of this to the US. This is the Motorola Krave which has a similar design to the Zing but also some extra features that which also has some new innovative and refreshing design elements that go to making the Motorola Krave similar and yet dissimilar to the Motorola Zing. The interface is much more intuitive as well as has a sharp and satisfying feel. The problems are that it does not have Wi-Fi and also no editing capacity in the camera to go with it. The web browser and also the keyboard leave something to be desired bit of you want good conversation and the ability to communicate properly it will be nice to check the Motorola Krave out.

The Motorola Krave is reasonable for around $149 and at 4.59 ounces it is rather heavy but feels quite robust and strong as well. It also has a multifunctional cover that can be used as a secondary touch surface. There is tactile feedback service too.

There are many mobile phone companies and carriers that are quite keen on pushing you to buy the slickest and the flashiest of handsets as well as services that are quite high end. But there are some companies that do stick to providing users with simple and basic handsets that are quite a hit with those who do not need very high cost phones. One of these carriers is MetroPCs which bings handsets that are simple and also deliver good quality sound, the phone may not be very flashy or slick but it does not shy away from being functional as well as suitable.

The LG Lyric is one such affordable as well as quite functionally developed. The design is user friendly and at $139 it is quite affordable too. MetroPCS does not force you to sign a contract as such, and if you choose to buy it online, you will also get a $25 rebate. The LG Lyric is flat and has a roomy keypad which is quite comfortable. At 3.7 ounces it is also quite light and it also have a trim profile as well as clean lines that are extremely simple and yet attractive. It also has an attractive red color that is quite appealing to those who like bright looks.

There are many who just swear by the Nokia brand name. it is certainly no doubt that the Nokia 2720 Fold is quite a phone if you consider the fact that it is available for as less as $20. It also has a camera at this price which makes it all the more interesting. The looks are also quite acceptable and you are seen to get more than you pay for in this glossy, shiny flip handset. What’s more you also get a music player and video recording, not to mention Bluetooth which makes it great value for money. The controls are quite large and performance is decent which is why the phone is quite endearing to those who are at the bottom of the pyramid. If there is an award for a simple or a basic phone, it is quite true that the Nokia 2720 Fold would be in contention for top honors.

The Nokia 2720 Fold may be glossy and shiny, but its flip cover is quite susceptible to being smudged quite a bit. At 3.18 ounces it is light and can easily fit into your pocket. It is sharply angled at its top and has rounded corners at the bottom edge.

Messaging is one of the key elements in cell phones of our times. Most of the cells that have been launched are quite good in sending text and e-mail messages and they are created with this express purpose in mind. Sanyo is one of the companies that have jumped on to the messaging bandwagon in a big way and it has done this with the SCP 2700. This is a phone that has been released for Sprint and it is not featured rich by any stretch of imagination. It does not have 3 G or even a music player and it seems to make up for it somewhat by having a full QWERTY keyboard that has threaded text messaging. It also has corporate e-mail support to add to it. This is a below $30 phone which clearly makes it one of the cheapest one around in the market for cell phones. It does have a 1.3 MP camera as well as Bluetooth too.

This phone at 3.4 ounces is quite lightweight and can easily make it to your pocket. But the phone has a glossy surface which is why you need to be careful with your fingerprints. Its surface can certainly make it messy if you don’t take care.

They’re fun to peruse on planes, mainly because of their out of this world absurdities. Yes, Skymall, the catalogs found on airplanes that are filled with surprisingly expensive, odd little gadgets that you never knew you never needed. Here are some of the most eye-popping selections.

Box of Applause of Laughter: Who says human interaction is important? Not Skymall! Open the box and you’ll be greeted with either riotous applause or sitcom-style guffaws. So if you’re desperately, desperately lonely, you can imagine that people enjoy your company with this rather sad device. Price: $24.95.

: Do you ever look at a clock or watch and say to yourself, “I don’t care what time it is, I’ve just completely forgotten the day of the week?” After all, why look at a newspaper, a clock, a TV, a computer or a cell phone when you can pay for a device that displays the day, and nothing else, for you? Price: $39.98.

Solar Address Marker: Not a bad idea in theory. A sign with your address collects power during the day and stays lit at night so visitors can easily find your house. Except, as the sole (negative) product review states, “It actually starts flashing on and off after a few hours. I leave the sign turned off because my neighbors made fun of the flashing numbers sign.” Maybe a box of applause could cheer him up? Price: $44.99.

Black Leather Paper Clip Holder: Make sure all your employees hate you by showing them that, even in the worst recession of the century, you have money to burn on such useless items as a top of the line paper clip holder. True, it does the job that could be done by an ashtray or an empty shotglass, but may as well go all out, right? Price: $29.
