The cell phone review never gets enough of Motorola, which always seems to have something or the other up its sleeve to delight and surprise its customers and the critics too. Thiis is precisely what you get with the Motorola Crush, a phone that may be on the low-end side, but which is quite suitable for quality touch screen experience. The price may be low, but the features do not come in the way of usability as well as suitability for normal usage. The phone proves itself to be quite decent, on the whole and in any case, you are getting a full touch screen phone for much less. So if you sign up with US Cellular, you get it for as less as $69.95, which comes along with a two year contract and a rebate of $50 too.

The Motorola crush has a candy bar design, and it has a smallish 2.8 inch display, which some people may say is too small. But at this price, you can let it slide. The basic idea here has been to get touch screens down to the lower end of the market, and if this is the objective, there’s no point cribbing about the size of the screen.

There are so many smartphones around, that you could be forgiven to be confused. You had the RIM Blackberry Bold and then the T-Mobile G1, which followed it. Now the cell phone review comes up with the review of the new Sony Ericsson Experia X1, which is Sony Ericsson’s first Windows Mobile device. The phone is well known for its interface panel interface. The phone comes with a high level of personalization, and the panel interface is absolutely out of the world. The phone has very good performance, with a set of features that are quite amazing.

The Sony Ericsson Experia X1 is quite expensive at close to $800. But then the company makes it very clear that they expect this to be aimed at high end customers. This is where the cell phone review differs in opinion. The phone is certainly not so outstanding as to command close to $800 for its panel interface as well as a few extra multimedia features. It’s a different matter if you have lots of money to burn, otherwise you may choose to give this phone the short shrift. The price makes this smartphone quite a luxury item, out of the reach of most common folks. You certainly get the feeling that the pricing strategy won’t work well with customers.

When you do a cell phone review of a handset from a iconic a company as Motorola, you really expect a lot out of it. And when the handset happens to be a Droid smartphone line-up, it gets even better. There were a lot of expectations from the Motorola Devour. It came in after Motorola launched its Droid smartphone that wowed the users and critics alike. This was a quality phone tht won Motorola mny avid fans. So would Motorola strike gold again, with the Devour. The Devous has its on strengths, for ure. Users will love its sturdy casing. This ensures greater safety, even when you are on the go. The performance of the phone is quite acceptable, as is the functionality. It also has a full keyboard, which some people seem to prefer.

The downside of the Motorola Devour is that it has just Android 1.6. and the reason for this is something that beats the cell phone review. It almost makes the Devour the younger borther of the Droid in eevry sense. But what more can you expect at this price? In any case, following up the Droid was a tough act to follow. Seems like the Devour is not yet quite ready to devour the competition.

When it comes to cell phone review, you would not hear too much about Kyocera, would you? Well, this is not surprising as Kyocera is hardly a main stream player in the cell phone market. And if you look at the Maco, it sounds a bit like Macho, doesn’t it? As far as the Maco is concerned, it has some sleekness as it has a shiny metal skin, that is rather interesting. This phone comes along with a VGA camera, voice dialing facility as well as Bluetooth. It also has quite agreeable sound quality, which is what you need from phone, after all, don’t you? The price is also not too high, being around $119 only.

As far as the design goes, the Maco does not go out of the way to please. After all, it is rather angular in design. At the same time, it is perfectly okay for a functional phone, which you can carry to office as well as a party. The metal skin is silver color and is quite sturdy too. So you need not worry about its ability to bear some hard knocks. At the same time, it is quite slim and will fit into your pocket quite well.

We all know many reasons why we love cell phones. If we weren’t aware of the wonderful qualities of mobile devices, we wouldn’t be so obsessed with them. But sometimes we just need to get some things that aren’t so perfect about cell phones off our chests.

Here are three more very annoying things about cell phones.

They spawned those men who think it’s acceptable to wear a Bluetooth headset on their ear all day, every day. It’s like they’re trying to advertise the idea that they’re in such high demand that they must be constantly available to talk about important business—and they’re so busy, of course, that they can’t actually hold the phone while they’re talking. Okay, it must be said that these headsets are a great safety tool when talking on the phone and driving, and they can come in handy when one needs to take notes or type during a conversation. But once the conversation is over, the headset should be removed.

They’re fragile. Throughout their evolution, cell phones have become smaller, sleeker and more breakable—dropping them can be disastrous. New technologies like touch screens make them even more vulnerable to damage. Ideally, we could put a cell phone into our purse or pocket on a daily basis and not have it emerge with a bent antenna, cracked screen or missing stylus or battery. After all, doesn’t a large part of cell phones’ convenience lie in the concept that they are portable?

They drop calls. Not just when you’re driving through a tunnel or hiking in the middle of nowhere. You could have a perfectly good signal in your dining room and drop the call on your way to the living room. Sometimes, calls just die, whether you’re moving or completely stationary. There are few things more frustrating when it comes to technology that hearing a beep followed by a silent line in the middle of an important conversation.

Textese

With the huge growth surge in mobile phone usage in recent years, many of us have found ourselves stumped more than once when attempting to use these fancy new technologies that until now have been completely foreign to us. And now that texting has exploded as a means of quick and easy communication, we’re struggling to keep up with a trend and a language that seems to have been created for and by teenagers, using old punctuation and characters in a whole new way.

Do you have trouble reading or understanding shorthand texts sent from your children or tech-savvy friends and colleagues? Here’s a short list, compiled from several websites, of frequently used text abbreviations and symbols and their translations. Or, in other words, textese and the English equivalent.

! -  I have something to tell you.
?rud – What are you doing?
02 – My (or your) two cents’ worth.
 143 – I love you.
 btw – By the way…
cyl – I’ll see you later.
 idk – I don’t know.
 jk – Just kidding.
lol – I’m laughing out loud at what you just said.
LOL – I’m laughing out loud (and hard) at the very funny thing you just said.
ttyl – I’ll talk to you later.

Though it may get easier to read and send textese messages over time, one has to stop and wonder at what point this “language” stops being concise and convenient (no doubt the reason it exists in the first place) and starts to become convoluted and far-fetched. When we use textese abbreviations for entire sentences or long phrases, it might actually make more sense to split the text in two and just type the whole thing out. That way, the recipient doesn’t have to waste a text to ask, “What does that mean?”

The cell phone review has reviewed quite a few LG phones, as LG has been able to create a buzz in the market with its many exciting and latest cell phone products. Some of these phones come along with Verizon Wireless as well as AT&T Wireless, and a few of these are also able to make it with US Cellular, which is a regional carrier. The LG Bliss comes for just $99, which makes it quite a steal, given today’s prices. The LG bliss is somewhat similar to the LG Tritan, though it does not have a keyboard and its camera resolution is also less. It is quite a thin phone and has a thickness of just 0.47 inch. It comes with home screens that are customizable, and since it has a number of multimedia features, it is likely to be quite a hit. It also has a slim and a thin frame, that makes it very easy to carry around, and even place it in your pocket.

The LG Bliss is also very lightweight, and though its plastic construction makes it look rather cheap, you cannot really expect too much for $99, can you? The phone comes in gold trim as well as lime green trim.

It is not always that you do a cell phone review of a Palm handset. That is why the cell phone review column is rather happy to be doing the review of a new Palm handset, the Palm Pixi Plus. This is a Verizon network phone, which is aimed at those who would like to make a transition from a feature based phone to a smartphone. It is similar to the Pre Plus, though a little bit tone down in its treatment. Even then, it also boats of an integrated wi-fi, which is quite an amazing and also impressive feature that the phone has to offer. This is able to provide much greater connectivity, which is quite an alluring and attractive feature that anyone would want in a smartphone.

When it comes to the Palm Pixi Plus, you get an odd feeling as if the phone is a little sluggish at times. This is why if you want it to be a business phone, you can perish the thought immediately. The main reason is that the Palm Pixi Plus is aimed at and designed for first time smartphone users, who want an appearance of the functionality, without it being at the higher end of the functionality spectrum.

The cell phone review always notes Nokia phones with some enthusiasm. It is not for nothing that Nokia is the largest cell phone seller in the world. There are quite a few of these phones that have caught the fancy of users and kept them quite mesmerized. For instance, you can take a look at the Nokia 6350. The phone was poised to create quite a buzz in the market, coming as an improvement of a model like the Nokia Mural. The phone has a much more sleek design, and has a lot of features for basic communication. If you want to make simple calls, the Nokia 6350 is okay. But if you want more than just basic communication, we are afraid you have come to the wrong place.

The Nokia 6350 is attractive in its own way, even though it does not go out of its ways to impress users and design admirers. The profile is slim and has smooth lines. The soft touch material covers the front as well as back, so that you do not touch any rough edges. The phone is also quite colorful and comes in red and graphite (gray) options that are all so impressive.

The cell phone review likes to touch upon phones that create a lot of buzz as well as expectations in the market. When AT&T brought its TV service for mobile phone, we were introduced to the Samsung Eternity, which had its good points. But that was back in 2008 and now Samsung and AT&T are back with the Samsung Mythic, which promises to be as mystical and charming as its quaint name. This was apt as sales of the Eternity seemed to be petering out and the Mythic with its beautiful touch screen familiarity does promise to scallop the demand for these phones quite significantly.

The Mythic has a touch screen interface which is TouchWiz in form and has wonderful rounded corners and also a silver chrome edging that adds to the sight. There is also a glossy plastic shell which has a burgundy back plate. The phone is quite chic as well as glossy, leading to a look that makes it an object of desire for all. The phone is also quite light, such that it is not tough to fit it into your pocket. With it customizable interface, you can choose the kind of display and the look that you want, which is quite a charm.
